Department of Chemical & Process Engineering, is pioneer in producing well qualified Chemical and Process Engineers and has an excellent reputation which has been built over 3 decades at The University of Peradeniya. The Department of Civil Engineering (DCE) at the University of Peradeniya, with a history of over 70 years, is the oldest of its kind in Sri Lanka. Of the current annual intake of about 450 students to the Faculty of Engineering, 150 students specialize in Civil Engineering from their second year of study (Learn more).

Although it is the youngest degree awarding department in the faculty, it is one of the premier Computer Engineering departments in the country’s University system. Initially, the primary function of the department was to conduct computing-related courses to the students in all disciplines of the Faculty.
