Representing the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Team Insomniacs has made history by securing 5th place worldwide and emerging as Sri Lanka’s No. 1 team in the  IEEEXtreme 19.0. Global Programming Competition! 

Many congratulations to Praveen Sumanasekara, Athulya Rathnayake, and Buddhi Wijenayake from E19 batch for their remarkable achievement in winning the prestigious IEEEXtreme 19.0 competition. Competing as the team "Insomniac," they represented the University with distinction, placing 05th out of approximately 8,700 teams from 75 countries worldwide. Their outstanding accomplishment is an inspiration to all aspiring individuals and showcases DEEE's commitment to excellence. Notably, they were also the winners of IEEEXtreme 18.0 and 17.0 editions.

IEEEXtreme is a renowned programming competition held annually, which attracts participants from across the globe. The competition spans over a period of 24 hours, during which the teams showcase their programming skills by solving a series of challenging problems.
