To provide knowledge required to analyze basic electrical networks with passive components so that students will be able to understand and analyze different electrical circuits under steady state and transient conditions and dc and ac excitations.

Student will be able to,

ILO1: Calculate voltages and currents in general second order circuits under steady state and transient conditions.
ILO2: Calculate power dissipation in passive ac electrical networks.
ILO3: Obtain Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits of passive ac electrical networks and derive maximum power transfer conditions.
ILO4: Calculate voltages and currents in passive electrical circuits using Laplace transform method.
ILO5: Calculate model parameters of two-port networks.
