An impactful Electrical Safety Program was conducted by the IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group (IEEE WIE SB AG), in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Peradeniya (IEEE SB UOP), and gracious sponsorship of Kelani Cables PLC. The program aimed to educate and enhance the technical skills of around 130 teacher trainees from the National College of Education Panideniya, Peradeniya.

Under the guidance of industry professionals and experts, the event provided participants with invaluable knowledge on safety measures in electrical systems, wiring, earthing of electronic appliances, electrical installation, and minor repairs.

• - Mr. Isuru Prasad, a Sales Engineer from Kelani Cables PLC
• - Mr. Jayantha Wijesinghe, the Co-Initiator and Coordinator of Kelani Saviya and Kelani Shakthi Projects 
• - Prof. Lilantha Samaranayaka, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering 
• - Prof. Maheshi Dissanayaka, Advisor of the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group, and 
• - Mr. Kapila Mahindasena, Chairperson of the National College of Education, Panideniya, along with other esteemed staff members of the college.
