An introductory session for the Tech Talk Series by Synopsys in collaboration with the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Society (EEES) and Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) - University of Peradeniya was held at the EOE Pereira Theatre on 10th of May. The Guest Speaker of the inauguration session was Mr. Farazy Fahmy, Research and Developing Director, Sysnopsys Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. and he briefed the content of the workshop series.

Topics to be covered:

• - Object Oriented Programming
• - Pointers and References
• - Virtual Tables
• - Other specific topics in C++ 
• - Firmware development for FPGA
• - Application of Machine Learning in EDA
• - ASIC Design flow

The focus of the first session was on Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and Hardware Descriptive Languages (HDL) and the session was very interactive and went until 6:30 pm.
