Congratulations to Prof. Janaka Bandara Ekanayake on being awarded a Fellowship in the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association for his contributions to AI through the AI4Covid Project at the University of Peradeniya!

As a Department member, we at DEEE are proud to have such an accomplished individual among our ranks. In addition to this recent honor, Prof. Ekanayake is also a Fellow of several other prestigious organizations, including IEEE, IET, NASSL, and IESL. It is clear that he is a highly respected and accomplished figure in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. As a Senior Professor and Chair of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Peradeniya, as well as a Visiting Professor at Cardiff University, UK, Honorary Professor at University of Wollongong, Australia, and Visiting Professor at UNITEN, Malaysia, Prof. Ekanayake has certainly made significant contributions to his field.
