On the 26th of April, a group of DEEE undergraduates from E18 Batch, who are passionate about Communication and Information Engineering, seized the opportunity to visit the Dialog Data Center and Dialog Media Hub for comprehensive industrial exposure. The group was accompanied by Dr. Isuru Dasanayake, senior lecturer from DEEE.

During the insightful field visit, students were given a unique opportunity to explore the Dialog Internet Data Center, Sri Lanka's first Tier III certified Data Centre. The center offers state-of-the-art hosting and co-location services, alongside a suite of Cloud services to Sri Lanka's Enterprise and Government sectors.

Following that, the students visited the Dialog Media Hub, which is co-located at the Data Centre Premises in Malabe. They were treated to a fascinating tour of Dialog Television, which enables downlinking and monitoring of Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) channels from 10 leading geo stationary satellites orbiting the Earth. Dialog Television supports the broadcast of over 130 international and local channels, providing an unparalleled viewing experience.

During the visit, several resource persons from Dialog, including Mr. Kasun Jayasanka, Mr. Haritha Perera, and Ms. Navodya Nanayakkara, conducted demonstrations and sessions, providing the students with a wealth of knowledge and insights about the latest communication and information engineering technologies.

The DEEE expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the resource persons from Dialog Axiata PLC for orchestrating such an enriching and insightful field visit. Their warm hospitality, exceptional expertise, and willingness to share knowledge have undoubtedly broadened the students' understanding of Communication and Information Engineering in a real-world context, leaving a lasting impression on their minds.
