We are thrilled to share that the session on "Frontiers in AI and Sharing Experiences" held on August 30, 2024, as part of the Peradeniya University International Research Symposium and Exposition (iPURSE) 2024, was a resounding success. With 500 students from Kandy schools in attendance, the event provided a comprehensive exploration of artificial intelligence, its concepts, applications, and future possibilities.

The session was conducted/addressed by a set of distinguished presenters from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya: Prof. Roshan Ragel, Prof. Roshan Godaliyadda, Prof. Parakrama Ekanayake, and Prof. Vijitha Herath (Academic Staff) and several Research Assistants and Undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya.

A special thanks go to the following DEEE Alumni: Dr. Pramuditha Perera from Amazon Web Services, Dr. Yasitha Liyanage from Microsoft, Dr. Chaminda Bandara from Apple, and Eng. Upeka Delay (PhD candidate at Cornell University, USA), for sharing their remarkable journeys from school classrooms to leading AI roles in their respective organizations.

The session featured engaging presentations, live demonstrations, and interactive discussions that inspired curiosity and opened new academic and career pathways for the students.
