A team of three students from the department consisting of Shaja (E/16/224), Sajith (E/17/301) and Zaahi (E/17/415) has won the second place in GENESIZ-2022 organized by General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

After completing multiple challenges including CODE STORM (organized by IEEE-KDU), DUINO BOT (by ERIC-KDU), MECHTRIX (by IMechE-KDU) and DECRYPT (By Rotaract-KDU), they have presented their project pitch of "Application of Multi Spectral Imaging and Machine Learning in Agriculture" to a panel of judges consists of Dean of FOE-KDU, senior lecturers from the Department of Electrical Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering-KDU and corporate representatives including Head of Technology from MAS Health and Wellness.
