We are excited to announce that a team from the University of Peradeniya has become the leading Sri Lankan contender in the prestigious global coding challenge - IEEEXtreme 18.0.

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DEEE) is proud to congratulate Praveen Sumanasekara, Athulya Rathnayake, and Buddhi Wijenayake from the E19 batch for their remarkable achievement in winning the prestigious IEEEXtreme 18.0 competition. Competing as the team "Insomniac," they represented the University with distinction, placing 66th out of approximately 8,700 teams from 75 countries worldwide. Their outstanding accomplishment is an inspiration to all aspiring individuals and showcases DEEE's commitment to excellence. Notably, they were also the winners of IEEEXtreme 17.0.

IEEEXtreme is a renowned programming competition held annually, which attracts participants from across the globe. The competition spans over a period of 24 hours, during which the teams showcase their programming skills by solving a series of challenging problems.
