We are thrilled to announce that a team from the University of Peradeniya has emerged as the top Sri Lankan contender in the prestigious global coding challenge - IEEEXtreme 17.0. 

DEEE takes great pride in congratulating Praveen Sumanasekara, Athulya Rathnayake, and Buddhi Wijenayake from the E19 batch for their outstanding achievement in winning the prestigious IEEEXtreme 17.0 competition. The trio competed under the team "Insomniac" and represented the University with great distinction, placing 69th out of approximately 6400 teams from 65 different countries worldwide. Their remarkable accomplishment is a true inspiration to all aspiring individuals and serves as a testament to the DEEE's commitment to excellence.

IEEEXtreme is a renowned programming competition held annually, which attracts participants from across the globe. The competition spans over a period of 24 hours, during which the teams showcase their programming skills by solving a series of challenging problems.
