Volt Up Your Productivity

The Electrical Machines and Drives laboratory provides students with hands-on experience with the fundamental principles of Electrical Machines and Drives. A number of hardware setups (including DC motors, induction motors, and synchronous motors) that can be used to mimic generation, transmission, and distribution systems and their control are available in the laboratory. Lab also equipped with commercial software such as PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, and IPSA. Students will learn how to operate these machines, measure their performance, and analyze their characteristics. They will also learn about the different types of drives that can be used to control these machines.

The laboratory is designed to complement the theoretical material that students learn in the classroom. It provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world problems and to develop their problem-solving skills and is open to all students enrolled in the Electrical Machines and Drives courses. It is also available to students in other engineering disciplines who are interested in learning about electrical machines and drives.
