Biography
Dr. Waranatha L. Abeygunasekara earned her B.Sc. (First Class Hons.) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2005. She joined Purdue University, Indiana, USA in 2007 for postgraduate studies. While studying towards her M.S. she worked both as a teaching assistant and a research assistant for the department of Electrical and computer Engineering Technology. She was awarded Dr. Margaret R. Taber Scholarship and Claude A. Graves Memorial Scholarship by the College of Technology in 2008. Her thesis research was on bio-nanotechnology and she received her M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology from Purdue University in May 2010. She has joined Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Peradeniya in January 2012. Currently she is pursuing her PhD with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, and her research work is on Efficiency improvement of organic solar cells by enhancing the active layer with nanostructures..
