From February to April, 2023, Prof. Vijitha Herath visited the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology as a visiting professor. He was awarded the Lady Davis visiting professor fellowship by the Lady Davis foundation of Canada. He was attached to the Laboratory for Multidimensional Analysis in Remote Sensing (MARS) of the Department of Transportation and Geo-Information Engineering of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Technion.

His host in the Technion was Prof. Fadi Kizel. During the stay he carried out seminars on multispectral imaging in agricultural applications and conducted research activities on multispectral imaging and remote sensing algorithm development as well.

Technion is the oldest university in Israel as well as the highest ranked university in Israel in the field of engineering.
