DEEE proudly announces that a research project team from the Department has secured the Best Paper Award in the Image Processing and Computer Vision category at the prestigious MERCon 2026.

A DEEE final-year project group has won First Place and the Gold Award at the Sri Lanka Energy Managers Association (SLEMA) Annual Research Awards for the Most Outstanding Undergraduate Energy Research 2026, presented during the SLEMA Annual Sessions 2026.

The IEEE International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEEET 2026) will be held for the first time from 17th to 18th October 2026 at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, in collaboration with NED University of Engineering and Technology, India.

The University of Peradeniya (UOP), in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), has officially launched a student exchange program aimed at strengthening academic ties and fostering international research exposure for undergraduate students.

A new degree program, the BScEng Honours in Electronic and Intelligent Systems Engineering, from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Peradeniya will be available to students starting from GCE (A/L) 2025 onwards.

DEEE at the University of Peradeniya successfully organized the 7th edition of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research and Project Symposium (EEERaPS26), fostering a collaborative environment for researchers and engineers to share their knowledge and insights toward advancing the field.
