IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award 2022 was presented to the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Peradeniya. The purpose of this award is to provide public recognition of exemplary IEEE Student Branch operations.

The team "Green Knights" from the department was able to secure the second place in GENESIZ-2022 organized by General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and received a cash prize of Rs.60,000 as prize money.

Lakshan Madhushanka Bandara, IEEE Student Branch of University of Peradeniya, currently working as a temporary instructor in the department (a DEEE member) has won the "IEEE Sri Lanka Section Outstanding Volunteer Award (Student Category)".
