The Eng. (Prof.) R.H. Paul Memorial Oration 2025 took place on February 7th at 5:15 PM in the IESL Wimalasurendra Auditorium. The speech was delivered by Prof. B.G.L.T. Samaranayake, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (DEEE). He presented on the topic "Advancing Solar PV Integration: Addressing Challenges for a Resilient and Sustainable Energy Future."

A Short Biography:

Prof. Lilantha Samaranayake

BSc, PhD, SMIEEE, Professor in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, 

Prof. Samaranayake is the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Peradeniya. He has been the former head of the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering. His area of expertise at the PhD level is Distributed Control Systems and he has been working on Distributed Control Systems applications in robotics & automation, smart nanoscale systems, electric vehicle powertrains, resource optimization and control of smart energy systems, and recently in smart and precision agriculture. He also contributes to the electric power sector projects both in academia and at the national level. He is a senior member of the Institution of Electrical & Electronic Engineers USA, a member of the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka, and a consultant to the Asian Development Bank in the Energy sector.
