AI4Covid is a multi-disciplinary collaborative project undertaken by a consortium of esteemed universities and research Institutes in Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The university of Peradeniya has served as the principal research organization, driving the project forward. DEEE congratulates Prof. Janaka Ekanayake, Principle Investigator of the Project and other department members: Prof. Vijitha Herath, Prof. Roshan Godaliyadda and Prof. Parackrama Ekanayake for successful completion of the project and concluding Impact Conference on 24th and 25th of August, in Grand style.

The event was graced with the presence of many distinguished guests and intellectuals and was certainly a platform that exchanged quite an impressive amount of knowledge and experiences. Chief Guest, His Excellency Eric Walsh, High Commissioner of Canada to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Guest of Honor, Mr. R.H.W.A. Kumarasiri, Director General, Department of National Planning and the Vice Chancellor of University of Peradeniya, Prof. M.D. Lamawansa address the gathering. Prof. Ir. Dr. Tiong Sieh Kiong, University Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia (Main Collaborator) was also participated in the event.

The conference included a panel discussion on  "Using AI for Developing Policy Measures" organized in collaboration with the National Academy of Science, Sri Lanka. Mr. Kanaka Herath, Minister of State for Technology graced the event as the Chief Guest.
